Franz, St-Gilles

Originally built in 1941, our ground-floor office on the corner of Rue Vanderschrick and Rue Gaillard has a long history as a shop, carpentry workshop, garage, and storage. Thanks to its open plan and generous 4-meter ceiling height, only minimal structural intervention was needed. By raising the floor 30 cm, we created room for all technical installations, insulation, and floor heating.

The existing walls were carefully preserved to maintain their 80-year-old patina, revealing subtle traces of the building’s many past lives. All lighting fixtures and sanitary elements were sourced from demolition sites and thoughtfully reused.
